Town-Village of Almond Joint Fire Committee Meeting

Present were: Matt Lemke, Kip Gutke, R. Hetzel, B. Roehrborn, W. Tomczak, Kalya Wellens, Tim Manske, Carol Smith
Guest: Dennis Schultz, Tim Cisewski
Meeting called to order by R. Hetzel at 6:00pm
Discussed the payment for the second half of the heat exchanger that was installed and is now complete. Kip Gutke made a recommendation, seconded by Wally Tomczak that we pay it with the same money we used for the first half from the Capital Improvement Fund in the amount of $9411.99. Recommend approved 7-0.
Discussed the 2% money and what we can/can’t use it for.
The committee continued going over the budget. It can only be increased 2% this year. This is the last year of the five-year agreement made on August 31, 2021 for the 2022 to be increased by 8%, then for the next five years it must remain at 2%.
After going over the budget the board agreed on the Fire Department budget total for 2027 is $51035.03. This amount will be taken back to their respective boards for approval.
Chief’s report: Chief Cisewski gave highlight of the past year and what the future needs could be to keep everything and everyone in compliance.
Highlights- Air/Rescue Equipment Trailer is 80% completed
Training continues for both Fire & EMS
Personnel-Two retirements and a couple new recruits.
Electronic Reporting-Moving forward to use this aid
Apparatus Replacement-Develop a strategic replacement plan
Communication-Currently short on portable radios
Turnout Gear-Several turnout gear are at or nearing their 10-year service life.
