Village of Almond Board Meeting January 8, 2018 Members present: J. Riggenbach, B. Roehrborn, K. Olson, S. Bunders, R. Burns Visitors present: Carl Schmidt, Dan Folan President K. Trzebiatowski called the Meeting to order at 7:00 pm. K. Olson made a motion, seconded by B. Roehrborn, to amend December’s minutes to read “$5500 per year.” Motion carried 5-0. K. Olson made a motion, seconded by B. Roehrborn to accept December’s minutes as amended. Motion carried 5-0. K. Olson made a motion, seconded by J. Riggenbach to accept the Treasurer’s Report. Motion carried 5-0. Finance: B. Roehrborn made a motion, seconded by K. Olson to approve the January disbursements. Motion carried 5-0. Fire: K. Olson made a motion, seconded by J. Riggenbach to approve the Fire Department’s budget. Motion carried 5-0. A large donation was made to the Fire Department and EMS. They are looking into getting a UTV-type vehicle that can be used by both entities. There were 27 fire calls in 2017, which is down from past years. Properties: No report. Public Works: Liberty picked up the tires. Harter’s is working out well as our new Dumpster Service Provider. Christmas decorations are down. Ordinance/Personnel: It was decided to wait until Spring to mail letters to residence about ordinance violations. The Employee manual needs to be updated. A committee meeting will need to be scheduled. Equipment: Dan needs new batteries for his cordless tools. He would like to upgrade to a better lithium ion battery. J. Riggenbach made a motion, seconded by B. Roehrborn to raise Dan’s spending limit from $100 to $200, provided he still reports to the Board what he purchased. Motion carried 5-0. Zoning: No report. Cemetery: No report. Beautification: No report. J. Riggenbach made a motion, seconded by B. Roehrborn, to appoint Marion Pohl to the Election Board. Motion carried 5-0. B. Roehrborn made a motion, seconded by S. Bunders to not appoint a new Board Member at this time. Motion carried 5-0. R. Burns made a motion, seconded by J. Riggenbach, to pay into the Sewer Replacement Fund with one payment depending on funds available, at the end of the year, instead of putting money in each month. Motion carried 5-0. The postage on the Sewer bills was being applied by the bank, but they are unable to continue this practice. Postage Meter pricing will be looked into. J. Riggenbach announced an Open House for County Executive Candidate Chris Holmen on Wednesday January 10th at 6:30pm at his home. A clock or plaque needs to be ordered for Kory Stucker’s years of service to the Village. Next meeting: Monday February 12, 2018 at 7pm. K. Olson made a motion, seconded by S.
