Village of Almond Minutes September 10, 2018

Present: S Bunders, J Riggenbach, K Trzebiatowski, R Burns, B Roehrborn, C Schmidt, H Burns, C Smith Visitors: Dan Folan, Cindy Piotrowski, Kristi Cooley President K Trzebiatowski called the meeting to order at 7:00pm J Riggenbach made a motion, seconded by S Bunders to accept the August minutes. Motion carried 5-0. Treasurer’s Report: H Burns gave the treasurer’s report. B Roehrborn made a motion, seconded by J Riggenbach to accept the Treasurer’s report. Motion carried 5-0. Finance – R Burns presented the bills. B Roehrborn made a motion to accept the bills. Seconded by S Bunders. Motion carried 5-0. Public Input – Cindy Piotrowski and Kristi Cooley from Aging & Disability Resource Center appeared before the board to advise them of their need for volunteer’s for delivering meals in our area. The volunteer’s get paid mileage. The need is for five days a week. Volunteers can do some or all days. Fire – D Folan reported the Fire Department’s chicken/porkchop fundraiser went well. Public Works – Dan has an operator meeting coming up in Rhinelander in Sept to keep certified. He needs someone to mow the grass at the lagoon. The board is looking at having a tire roundup every year instead of every other year. They need to contact the Town of Almond to set something up. Will bring this back to the October meeting. Properties -None Ordinance – J Riggenbach gave a report on letters that were issued for ordinance violations and the results. Jim Bovee did not receive his notice as the mailbox on that property was knocked down. It will be reissued. The other notices that were sent were discussed with the possibility of issuance of citations. There was a revision in the minutes that they should have read “some will get a second/final notice with possible citation”. H Burns reported that the letters sent out to dog owners has been somewhat helpful. There was discussion on whether the board should charge an additional fee for collection of dog licenses. Will bring back to next meeting. D Folan reported that the dog running loose has been taken care of. He informed the board of a person not taking his garbage to the dump and animals are getting into it. Also there was a report of another person with unlicensed vehicles in the village. Equipment – None Zoning – None Cemetery – None Beautification – None Personal – The personal committee is looking at reviewing/updating the job description for the Collection Sit Worker. Both old and new versions will be sent to the Personal committee to review before the next meeting. The board reviewed the Clerk’s performance after 90 days. J. Riggenbach made a motion and seconded by B. Roehrborn to increase the Clerk’s salary to $13.00/hr. Motion passed 5-0 Next meeting will be October 8, 2018.
