Village of Almond Board Meeting
January 14, 2019
Present: J. Riggenbach, K. Trzebiatowski, K. Olsen, C. Schmidt, C. Smith, B. Roehrborn

Pledge of Allegiances was said
President K Trzebiatowski called the meeting to order at 7:01 pm
K. Olsen made a motion, seconded by B. Roehrborn to accept the December minutes. Motion carried 4-0.
Treasurer’s Report: C Smith gave the treasurer’s report. Olsen made a motion, seconded by J. Riggenbach to accept the Treasurer’s report. Motion carried 4-0.
Finance – B. Roehrborn presented the bills. J. Riggenbach made a motion, seconded by C. Schmidt to pay the bills. Motion carried 4-0.
Fire –President and Clerk signed the Fire contracts with Belmont and Buena Vista. Dan reported the EMS is re-certifying right now.
Public Works – None
Properties – None
Equipment – Dan informed the board the repairs are done to the mower/tractor and we have it back. The new mower/tractor should arrive mid-February. The rental Tractor was picked up today.
Zoning – None
Cemetery – None
Beautification – None
Ordinances – Hold burning until a later time.
Personnel – Had 17 applications for the Maintenance Supervisor position. The personnel committee met and narrowed them down to five. They will be doing interviews on January 18, 2019, starting at 12:30pm.
J. Riggenbach passed around a list of questions he has prepared to ask the candidates. He was open for any and all comments on these. Also, if there were other questions they wanted asked.
K. Olsen made a motion, seconded by C. Schmidt to allow the personnel committee to hire the candidate of their choice. Motion carried 4-0. Dan’s last day will be June 7, 2019.
K. Olsen made a motion, seconded by J. Riggenbach to require a background check and drug test be done on all new hired employees. Motion passed 4-0
Our next board meeting will be February 11, 2019 at 7:00 PM.
K. Olsen made a motion and seconded by J. Riggenbach to adjourn. Motion carried 4-0.
