Village of Almond Board Public Meeting

September 9, 2019

Present: J. Riggenbach, B. Roehrborn, R. Burns, H. Burns, C. Smith, K Trzebiatowski,

Visitors:  David Schauer, Al Pagel, Dalton Beggs, Dave Beggs, Kelly Beggs, Zac Beggs, Larry Oathout

President K. Trzebiatowski called the meeting to order at 6:05pm – Public meeting on rezoning of land from residential to Class B1 Business land to allow equipment to be held on it.

The clerk read the minutes from the August 12, 2019 meeting.

A letter was read from Tom Lamb by K. Trzebiatowski as Tom was unable to attend.  See attached letter.  He was objecting to the rezoning.

Al Pagel appeared before the board.  He had talked to the Begg’s about shrubs, etc.  Also, about the value of the property decreasing.  He also confirmed again about the drainage.  He has mixed feeling himself as he is also a business owner, resident and private property owner.

K. Trzebiatowski looked into the drainage situation.  Nothing has changed in years to this situation.  It all depends on the year and what type of Spring we have, that determines how well it works.  Not much can be done about it.

Dave Beggs did tell us that they were on their property talking with a sheriff’s deputy when the kids appeared and they did not call the sheriff’s dept.  They have adjusted their lights so they do not shine on Iwanski’s property as Iwanski’s requested.  They are also concerned about the dust blowing around from the road.  They do not own the road.  That is private property.  On this land that they want rezoned; they have planted to grass so there is no dust blowing around.    They keep their semis on their property on CTY BB.  They only bring into the shop the equipment that needs repair work.  They will only be parking equipment on the lot for a overflow when they are working on their equipment.  They have left a buffer between the property of theirs and the property to the west of them.  They also want to keep it looking nice.  They will keep the lot in a clean fashion.

No one from Iwanski’s  appeared before this meeting.

A roll call vote was taken to recommend changing the property from residential to Class B1 Business land.  Jim Riggenbach – yes, Brian Roehrborn – yes, Richard Burns – yes, Ken Trzebiatowski – yes.

This recommendation will be taken before the board at their regular meeting on September 9, 2019 immediately following this Public Meeting.

A motion was made by B. Roehrborn and seconded by J. Riggenbach to adjourn.  Motion carried 3-0
