Personnel/Ordinance Meeting March 30, 2020

Members present: Ken Trzebiatowski, Kurt Olsen, Carl Schmidt, Jim Riggenbach.

The meeting was called to order at 6:10 p m.

The meeting was noticed in compliance with the open meetings law.

The committee discussed the need to create a Sewer Billing Clerk position. The Village Clerk currently handles the sewer billing with some assistance from the Treasurer. The Village President was proposing that the new position take over responsibility for sewer billing and the clerk assume all responsibility for the cemetery.  In past years the sewer billing was handled by the deputy clerk. The deputy clerk position was not filled when the current clerk was hired.

A job description for the Sewer Billing Clerk position was reviewed. The committee suggested adding the sentence, “Other duties as assigned”. C. Schmidt made a motion to recommend to the full board approval of the Sewer Billing Clerk job description with the suggested change. Seconded by K Olsen. Motion approved 3-0.

The rate of pay for the sewer clerk position was suggested by the Village President to be set at $600 per year or $150 per quarter. This was the rate that was paid in the past. K. Olsen made a motion to recommend approval of the suggested rate of pay to the full board. Seconded by C. Schmidt. Motion approved 3-0.

The Village President had conferred with the Village Attorney regarding the position and the Attorney created a resolution to create the position. The committee reviewed the resolution. K. Olsen made a motion to recommend approval of the resolution to the full board. Seconded by C. Schmidt. Motion approved 3-0.

The Village Clerk was contacted by a Village resident to inquire if they can keep a horse in the Village. The resident was in an outlying district and no other residence was within 500 feet of the property. It appeared that no permit was required. J. Riggenbach would contact the resident after reviewing the ordinances.

Motion to adjourn by K. Olsen. Seconded by C. Schmidt. Motion approved 3-0.

Meeting adjourned at 7 p.m.

Respectfully,

Jim Riggenbach, Chair Ordinance Personnel Committee
