Village Board Meeting Minutes – 11/9/2020

Present: K. Trzebiatowski, J. Riggenbach, B. Roehrborn, R. Burns, H. Burns C. Smith, C. Schmidt S. Bunders,

Pledge of Allegiance was said

Meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by President K. Trzebiatowski

B. Roehrborn made a motion, seconded by J. Riggenbach to approve the October minutes.  Motion approved 5-0.

Treasurer’s Report:  H. Burns gave the treasurer’s report.   B. Roehrborn made a motion, seconded by S. Bunders to accept the Treasurer’s report.  Motion approved 5-0. 

Discussion/Approval on Liquor/Beer License for Theodore L. Conley dba Angel’s Bar & Grill.  J. Riggenbach made a motion, seconded by S. Bunders to approve the Liquor/Beer license for Angel’s Bar & Grill, with the fee being for 7 months of operation.  Motion approved 5-0. Hoping to open around December 1, 2020.

Discussion/Approval on an Operator’s license for Angel Friday. B. Roehrborn made a motion, seconded by C. Schmidt to approve an operator’s license to Angel Friday.  Motion approved 5-0.

Finance -S. Bunders gave the finance report.  B. Roehrborn made a motion, seconded by J. Riggenbach to pay the bills.  Motion approved 5-0. 

Fire/EMS – The company building the new fire truck is running behind two months

Public Works – C. Schmidt reported the road work on Church St. is done.  The sewer Force Main was hit by Pagels’s digging a line for a water hookup.  Will be sending them a bill for repairs.

We had received a correspondence from the school with a suggestion of a 15mph during school sign be put up by Church and Elm ST.  B. Roehrborn made a motion, seconded by J. Riggenbach to put up this sign.  Motion approved 5-0.

Lift station – New controls have not been installed yet.

Properties – None

Ordinance/Personnel – None

Equipment –Still working on the generator.  Dave gave an update on a floor jack his has located for $179.10.  B. Roehrborn made a motion, seconded by R. Burns to purchase this floor jack.  Motion approved 5-0.

Dave informed us that we could change all the lights in the garage/shop to LED lights for $195.00 for thirty bulbs-5 free ones.  J. Riggenbach made a motion, seconded by B. Roehrborn to purchase these lights and Dave will them installed.  Motion approved 5-0.

Zoning – One permit for a storage unit

Cemetery – Discussion on removal of flowers, etc.

Beautification – None

Media/Sewer Clerk – News articals due to Heather by December 14th so she can get a newsletter out in December.

Delinquent sewer letters/bills went out.   Any bills not paid by 13th will be put on the tax roll.

Update was given on the Fay property.

Adjourn to the budget meeting at 8:00PM.

President K. Trzebiatowski called the Budget Meeting to order at 8:00pm.

Questions were asked and answered by the audience on the budget.  Robert Rohde made a motion, seconded by Joan Rohde approved the budget for 2021.

Went back into the regular meeting to adpot the 2021 budget.  B. Roehrborn made a motion, seconded by S. Bunders to adopt the 2021 budget for the Village of Almond.  Motion approved 5-0.

Dave was asked by the President why he did not put the markings on the floor for election. And why he did not get the leaves on the sidewalk removed before the election.  His reply.  Not enough time and the leaves was not a small project and no time to do it.  Asked why he did not empty the trash-not full.

Anything else before the board – President K. Trzebiatowski announced he will not be running for President this spring.  He has been on the board for 31 years.  Time to find someone else.  He will be done after the election in April 2021.

Next meeting will be on December 14,2020 at 7:00PM.

B. Roehrborn made a motion, seconded by S. Bunders to adjourn.  Motion approved 5-0
