Board Regular Meeting

May 8, 2023

Present: B. Roehrborn, D. Johnson, D. Schultz, D. Warzynski, G. Otto, C. Schmidt, L. Helmrick, C. Smith

Visitors:  David Schauer, Chris Walter, Kay Walter

Meeting was called to order at 5:00 pm by President B. Roehrborn

Pledge of Allegiance was said.

D. Johnson made a motion, seconded by L. Helmrick to approve the minutes from the April 10, 2023 board meeting.  Motion approved 6-0.

Treasurer’s report – C. Smith gave the treasurer’s report.  G. Otto made a motion, seconded by S. Schmidt to approve the treasurer’s report.  Motion approved 6-0.

Finance Report – D. Johnson gave the finance report.  L. Helmrick made a motion, seconded by G. Otto to approve paying the bills.  Motion approved 6-0. 

Public Input-Chris Walter and Kay Water appeared before the board to inform them of speeding vehicles on the streets of Oak and Almart.  They have witnessed several children being in danger because of the speeding vehicles.  The board asked them to report this to the Sheriff’s Dept. when they see it and the board will also report this to the Deputy that checks in with the board.  This happens more often when games are going on at the ball fields.

Fire/EMS –Only three students had signed up for the demonstrations at the fire station, so it was cancelled.  The “Stop the Bleed” date has been changed to August 12, 2023.  Watch for more information.

Public Works – Looking into doing the tire roundup again this year.  Discussion was held on semi parking on village streets.   The village will be putting up signs where not to park.  Already in the ordinance.

Ordinance/Personnel – None

Properties – None

Equipment – Plow has several issues that need to be fixed.  Looking to get two more tires for the village pickup truck.  Looking into a different brush.

Zoning – One roof repair

Cemetery-Some of the retaining walls be getting repairs in May

Beautification – Still looking into getting new Summer Banners for the village.

Media/Sewer Clerk –We have had a few home owners attempt to make payments at the bank or at the office.  We have decided to return those payments to the property owner with a letter reminding them of the new Sewer Utility billing procedure.

Media-Reminders were posted as to what not to flush down the toilet.  See the website.  Asked the board to start thinking of ideas for the Summer Newsletter.  Also looking for ways to get more photos for the web page.
