Board Regular Meeting

September 11, 2023

5:00pm

Present: B. Roehrborn, D. Schultz, D. Warzynski, G. Otto, L. Helmrick, C. Smith, H Burns

Visitors:  David Schauer

Meeting was called to order at 5:05 pm by President B. Roehrborn

Pledge of Allegiance was said.

L. Helmrick a motion, seconded by G. Otto to approve the minutes from the August 14, 2023 board meeting.  Motion approved 4-0.

Treasurer’s report – H. Burns gave the treasurer’s report.  D. Warzynski made a motion, seconded by D. Schultz to approve the treasurer’s report.  Motion approved 4-0.

Public Input-None

Discussion/approval to approve Dee’s Bar & Grill Request – Clifford Williams from Dee’s Bar & Grill came before the board at the August meeting to request closing of Division St from CTY A to 2nd St on September 30, 2023 from 9am to 4pm for a car show.  It was not on the agenda at that time, therefore the board is addressing it tonight.  L. Helmrick made a motion, seconded by G. Otto to approve the request of closing the street from 9am to 4pm on September 30, 2023 as requested by Clifford Williams from Dee’s Bar & Grill.  Motion approved 4-0

Discussion/Action on live band at Angel’s Bar loud music played late into the night. There were several complaints about the loud music.  A letter will be sent to Angel’s Bar that we have an ordinance requiring loud music be done by 10:00pm.

Fire/EMS – Joint Fire meeting was held on August 30, 2023.  The joint committee recommends to not proceed with the billing at this time as the Village cannot charge for fire calls.  Towns can.  The budget for the fire department was approved by the joint fire committee.  It is being increased by 2% ($942.97) for 2024.

Public Works – D. Schultz stated the Jetter is working at this time.  It was recommended that when the Jetter is stored the camera be put high so water does not freeze on it. The generator is in the process of being built and should be installed by the end of the month.  When they install the generator, they will also move the pad at that time with no cost to the village as previously stated from them.

Discussion was held on the tire roundup.  D. Schultz said the Town would like to leave the tire roundup at 12 tires.  After much discussion G. Otto made a motion seconded by L. Helmrick to skip the tire roundup for this year.  Motion approved 4-0.

Properties Committee – Discussion was held on how to repair the bridge/sidewalk past the fire station

Ordinance/Personnel – Gene Coyle has been hired for Collection site supervisor.  G. Otto made a motion, seconded by D. Warzynski to pay him $12.00/hr because of his work experience.  Motion approved 4-0.

A Personnel meeting has been set up for October 9, 2023 following the regular board meeting to discuss anything needed for the budget.

A Budget Workshop date was set for October 16, 2023 at 5:00pm

Equipment-still looking for something for snow removal.

The board discussed having Dave furnish his cell phone or keeping the phone as is.  The board decided to keep the cell phone as is.

Zoning – One fence be installed

Cemetery – None

Beautification – None

Media/Sewer Clerk –L. Helmrick made a motion, seconded by G. Otto to approve Heather and Carol to go to a Town and Village Fall Workshop on Monday September 18, 2023 in Stevens Point.  Motion approved

Trick or Treating date is set for October 27, 2023, 5-7pm same as last year.

Next meeting October 9, 2023 at 5:00pm

G. otto made a motion, seconded by L. Hemrick to adjourn.  Motion approved 4-0
