Board Regular Meeting

October 9, 2023

5:00pm

Present: B. Roehrborn, D. Johnson, D. Schultz, D. Warzynski, G. Otto, L. Helmrick, C. Smith, H Burns

Visitors:  David Schauer

Meeting was called to order at 5:08 pm by President B. Roehrborn

Pledge of Allegiance was said.

L. Helmrick a motion, seconded by G. Otto to approve the minutes from the September 11, 2023 board meeting.  Motion approved 5-0.

Treasurer’s report – H. Burns gave the treasurer’s report.  D. Johnson made a motion, seconded by G. Otto to approve the treasurer’s report.  Motion approved 5-0.

Finance report: D. Johnson gave the finance report.  G. Otto made a motion, seconded by D. Schultz to approve the bills.  Motion approved 5-0

Discussion/Approval Dog License fees for 2024: G. Otto made a motion seconded by D. Schultz to match the increase of the county’s dog licenses.  Spayed/Neutered-$17.00, Not Spayed/Neutered-$27.00, Late Fee After March 31, 2023-$5.00.  Motion approved 5-0

Public Input-None

Fire/EMS – Open house at the Fire Station on Friday October 27, 2023 from 5-7pm for Halloween.  All are welcome to come.

Public Works – Need to look at road repairs.

Properties Committee –Branches on Dan’s Dr need to be cut down.  Also, many other areas need trimming.  A request for a No Parking by the garbage/recyclables at the Manor so these items can be picked up.  Will contact someone from the Manor to install this sign as it is their property.

Ordinance/Personnel-A motion was made by D. Warzynski, seconded by L. Helmrick to remove the Stevens Point Journal as the official newspaper from Sec 2-1-3, as the newspaper is not delivered to the Village anymore.  Motion approved 5-0.  It was recommended to post ordinance changes on our website.  All ordinances have been updated on the website for all to view.

A Personnel meeting will follow our regular meeting to discuss wages/personnel issues before the budget workshop meeting.

A Budget Workshop date was set for October 16, 2023 at 5:00pm

Equipment-Plow truck has 1 sensor, 2 relays to be repaired.  Air Compressor is good shape now.  The Jetter needs a repair to the camera.  Still looking for a front-end loader for snow removal.  Also, the board recommended Dave get the other two new tires for the pickup truck before winter.

Zoning – One attachment between two buildings

Cemetery – None

Beautification – None

Media/Sewer Clerk –Possible letters going out next week to sewer owners that have delinquent payments

Trick or Treating date is set for October 27, 2023, 5-7pm same as last year.

Harter’s-reviewed loads going to Marathon County vs Portage County.  It is almost 2-1 going to Portage County.  Need to contact Harter’s as they are supposed to be 50-50.

Went over the Insurance premiums before the budget workshop to inform the board of costs.  The board agreed the premiums look good.  Some have gone down a little.
