Almond Village Board Regular Meeting

November 13, 2023

5:00pm

Present: B. Roehrborn, D. Johnson, D. Schultz, C. Schmidt, G. Otto, L. Helmrick, C. Smith, H Burns

Visitors:  David Schauer, Bob Rohde, Joan Rohde

Meeting was called to order at 5:00 pm by President B. Roehrborn

Pledge of Allegiance was said.

G. Otto a motion, seconded by D. Schultz to approve the minutes from the October 9, 2023 board meeting.  Motion approved 5-0.

Treasurer’s report – H. Burns gave the treasurer’s report.  D. Johnson made a motion, seconded by G. Otto to approve the treasurer’s report.  Motion approved 5-0.

Finance report: D. Johnson gave the finance report.  L. Helmrick made a motion, seconded by C. Schmidt to approve the bills.  Motion approved 5-0

Discussion/approval land lease to PA Rendall Farms Inc.  G. Otto made a motion, seconded by D. Schultz to approve the land lease for three years at a cost of $5,000.00 per year.  Motion approved 5-0

Public Input-None

Fire/EMS –Siren has been fixed.

Public Works – D. Johnson applied for LRIP grant money through the county.  We were approved.  We are guaranteed $15,000.00.  He applied for   1,150 feet section of Oak Street.  L. Helrmick made a motion, seconded by D. Schultz to do repairs to Oak Street with this grant money.  Motion approved 5-0

Properties Committee –Richard Novotny is still interested in part of the alleyway by his house.

Ordinance/Personnel-one application for collection site received

Equipment-Still looking for a payloader for snow removal.  Power steering fixed on plow truck. Electrical yet to be updated.  Still for looking for a brush for sweeping the sidewalks. D. Schultz made a motion seconded by L. Helmrick to increase the price to $3,ooo.oo to purchase one.  Motion approved. 5-0

Zoning – One chair lift attachment and one little addition

Budget meeting-G. Otto made a motion, seconded by D. Schultz to adjourn to the Budget Proposal Public Hearing.  

President Roehrborn called the Budget Proposal Meeting to order at 6:00PM

Questions were asked and answered by the audience on the proposed budget.  Bob Rohde made a motion, seconded by Joan Rohde to approve the proposed budget for 2024.  G. Otto made a motion, seconded by L. Helmrick to return to the regular meeting.  Motion approved 5-0

Cemetery – None

Beautification – Still looking for options for new street signs.

Media/Sewer Clerk – New letter in the works

Next meeting December 11, 2023 at 5:00pm

C. Schmidt made a motion, seconded by L. Hemrick to adjourn.  Motion approved 5-0
