Board Regular Meeting
February 12, 2023

Meeting was called to order at 5:00 pm by President B. Roehrborn
Pledge of Allegiance was said.
G. Otto a motion, seconded by L. Helmrick to approve the minutes from the January 8, 2024 board meeting. Motion approved 5-0.
Treasurer’s report – H. Burns gave the treasurer’s report. D. Johnson made a motion, seconded by L. Helmrick to approve the treasurer’s report. Motion approved 5-0.
Finance report: D. Johnson gave the finance report. L. Helmrick made a motion, seconded by G. Otto to approve the bills. Motion approved 5-0
Board would like to review charging for appliances containing freon as it is a significant cost to the Village and Town when those items are collected at the Collection Site. This will be added to the February 2024 agenda. This was discussed and decided not to charge at this time. Will keep tabs on this issue.
Discussion/action on an operator’s license for Graci Christianson. G. Otto made a motion, seconded by D. Johnson to approve Graci an operator’s license. Motion approved 5-0.
Public Input- Ed Burns appeared before the board to present us with a scholarship opportunity for the people of the Village of Almond for an Improvement Fund. There will be brochures posted in different places, on the web site and face book account explaining this opportunity for our community. This will be an ongoing opportunity to help make the Village a better place and hopefully will be inviting to new comers in the future. There is also contact information on them.
Public Works – Discussion was held on purchasing a new/used wheel loader for snow removal. Or should we be looking at something different? Still in the works.
Zoning – Nothing
Cemetery – Nothing
Fire/EMS – Stop the Bleed training will be held Thursday February 22, 2024 from 3-5PM at the fire station. There will be an Active Shooter training at the school in June.
Properties Committee – none
Ordinance/Personnel – Letters will be going to residents that are in violation of different ordinances.
Beautification – The school’s art class is going to have students design and either directly print or screen print designs for our banners for the Spring/Summer season. We will see how this works out and possibly have them do some for the Fall/Winter season. We will start out with six banners.
Media/Sewer Clerk – Nothing
