Joint Fire Committee Meeting

Present were: Matt Lemke, Kip Gutke, W. Tomczak, Lori Helmrick, Carol Smith
Guest: Dennis Schultz
Meeting called to order by Matt Lemke at 7:00pm
Chief updated members on the furnace repairs.
New Fire Chief discussion – Suggested increasing wages for the incoming chief. Kip Gutke made a motion, seconded by Lori Helmrick to increase the wage to $3500.00 annual salary. Motion approved 4-0
Lori Helmrick made a motion, seconded by Wally Tomczak to take a job description to Town/Village meetings for approval. Motion approved
The committee asked if both boards could meet right away and get the wages and job description approved so they can start advertising by April 1, 2026. The Town board is meeting on March 19, 2026 at 6:00 pm. The Village members asked if they could meet on that date also and do a phone conference when they have decided on the wages and job description. Carol will set this up.
Dennis Schultz updated everyone on the fire department.
Lori Helmrick made a motion, seconded by Kip Gutke to adjourn
