Joint Fire Committee Meeting
Wednesday August 30, 2023
7:00 PM
Present were: Matt Lemke, Kip Gutke, R. Hetzel, B. Roehrborn, G. Otto, D. Schultz and Carol Smith.

Meeting called to order by R. Hetzel at 7:00pm
K. Gutke made a motion, seconded by B. Roehrborn to approve the minutes from the March 1, 2023 meeting. Motion approved 6-0
Election of officers: K. Gutke made a motion to nominate R. Hetzel for chair, seconded by G. Otto. Nomination approved 6-0
K. Gutke made a motion to nominate B. Roehrborn for Vice Chair, seconded by G. Otto. Nomination approved 6-0
Discussed the budget for 2024. M. Lemke made a motion, seconded by B. Roehrborn to approve increasing the budget by 2% for 2024. The amount of the increase is $942.97. Total budget for 2024 will be $48,091.45. Motion approved 6-0
Reviewed and discussed the 2% money the department has. Information only.
Kip gave us an update on the progress of the billing procedure. M. Lemke made a motion to drop the idea of fees at this time, seconded by K. Gutke. Motion approved 6-0.
Chief’s report-The department had applied and was approved for a grant of $2,000.00 to use towards a gas sniffer through Wisconsin Public Service BRIC grant program. Members are paying the difference.
Two people have been interviewed for a possibility to becoming firemen. One has declined.
G. Otto made a motion, seconded by M. Lemke to adjourn. Motion approved.
