Present: B. Roehrborn, D. Johnson, D. Schultz, D. Warzynski, L. Helmrick, W. Tomczak, C. Smith, H Burns

Visitors:  Greg Otto, Jim Johnson, Art Pagel, Brittney Johnson

Meeting was called to order at 5:00 pm by President B. Roehrborn

Pledge of Allegiance was said.

L. Helmrick a motion, seconded by D. Schultz to approve the minutes from the August 12, 2024 board meeting.  Motion approved 5-0.

Treasurer’s report – H. Burns gave the treasurer’s report.  D. Johnson made a motion, seconded by L. Helmrick to approve the treasurer’s report.  Motion approved 5-0.

Finance report:  D. Johnson gave the finance report.  D. Warzynski made a motion, seconded by W. Tomczak to approve the bills.  Motion approved 5-0

Public Input-Jim Johnson and Art Pagel appeared before the board to request purchase of 1.42 acres adjourning their properties. Portage County Tax Parcel No. 191-21-0928-13.12. After much discussion – L. Helmrick made a motion, seconded by W. Tomczak to sell this property to them for $3750.00, plus survey fees.  Cost per square foot to be divided by the two.   All other transferring and any other fees to make this transaction complete to be paid by them.  Motion approved 3-0.  Dylan Warzynski and Dave Johnson abstained from voting per conflict of interest.

Art Pagel brought to the board’s attention that after the car show at Dee’s Bar & Grill that several black marks were left on the roadway.  This is the second year in a roll that this has happened. He would like the board to address this as we are trying to set good examples for our children in our community.  The board will be addressing this with Clifford Williams in the future.

Public Works-Oak Street project will be starting up shortly.

Fire/EMS – Several EMS members have reached milestone marks of five and ten year of service.  Service award went to Dan Folan this year.

Properties –Discussion on salt shed repairs.   Jetter has been working.   Greg is getting the sewer jetting done.

Migration Plan.  Members are to continue to work on this plan.

Ordinance/Personnel – Greg is due to get his CDL. 

Media/Sewer clerk – DNR notice put on Facebook and website for a reminder of safety use of SUV and ATV’s

Equipment –Wheel loader almost finished and ready for use.  Might have to get a battery for the Jetter

Zoning – None

Cemetery – Work is done to the walls.

Beautification – Since school has started the class will start working on the street signs.  They have everything they need at this time.

Halloween in the village will be October 25, 2024 from 5-7PM.  If you want people to stop, put on a porch light.  The Lions Halloween will be at the school later that evening.  Watch for their schedule.  The Fire Dept will also be holding Halloween at this time 5-7PM

Discussion on sidewalk quotes-will discuss further with the budget workshop.

L. Helmick made a motion, seconded by D. Warzynski to adjourn.  Motion approved 5-0
