Almond Village Board Meeting Minutes – 3/10/2025

Present: B. Roehrborn, D. Schultz, D. Warzynski, L. Helmrick, W. Tomczak, C. Schmidt, C. Smith, H Burns

Visitors: G. Otto, Mike Dunbar

Meeting was called to order at 5:00 pm by President B. Roehrborn

Pledge of Allegiance was said.

D. Warzynski made a motion, seconded by C. Schmidt to approve the minutes from the February 10, 2025 board meeting.  Motion approved 5-0.

Treasurer’s report – H. Burns gave the treasurer’s report.  L. Helmrick made a motion, seconded by W. Tomczak to approve the treasurer’s report.  Motion approved 5-0.

Finance report:  L. Helmrick gave the finance report. C. Schultz made a motion, seconded by D. Schultz to approve the bills.  Motion approved 5-0.    

Discussion/approval of Resolution 3-10-25 D. Schmidt made a motion, seconded by L. Helmrick to approve Resolution 3-10-25 for signatures for the sale of land.  Motion approved 5-0

Public Input – Mike Dunbar approached the board to tell the board that he does scrapping and would be interested in taking care of the scrapping at the collection site.  He would work with a 60/40 share of the money received.  D. Schultz made a motion, seconded by C. Schmidt to allow Mike to clean up the existing pile with the 60/40 and signing of a liability agreement to be drawn up by Dennis. Then the board will do a review on how it went.  Motion approved 5-0

Public Works – None

Fire/EMS – Heaters in the fire station needing repairs.

Properties – Fencing around the fuel tanks need repair.  Rubber on the bottom of the garage doors need replacing.  Wally to get quotes.

Ordinance/Personnel – None

Zoning – None

Equipment –Wheel loader has a couple of leaks

Cemetery – None

Beautification – Working on the banners

Media/Sewer –Transferred the monies from the tax collections to the sewer account. Next month we will decide how much money to transfer from the sewer account to the sewer replacement fund.  Suggestion of $50,000.00.

D. Warzynski made a motion, seconded by W. Tomczak to allow Greg and Dennis to go to Green Bay for classes for the sewer.    Motion passed 5-0.  They would go for two days and have someplace that would not cost them to stay overnight.  Each day will cost $110.00 each, plus mileage.

Discussion was held on what project/projects we need to be looking at for the sidewalks this year.  It was decided to try to get the bridge work done first.

C. Schmidt made a motion, seconded by D. Warzynski to authorize up to $3000.00 for Greg to update the mower deck to a 72” with a side discharge.  Motion approved 5-0.

Greg put in a request to possibly get a shop vac, back pack leaf blower, and a snow blade.

L. Hemrick made a motion, seconded by W. Tomczak to adjourn.  Motion approved 5-0
