Billing Changes for 2023
The Village of Almond diligently maintains the Sewer Utility—doing our part in keeping the Sewer bills low for residents. By following best practices, we have been able to continue providing wastewater services while keeping billing rates at 2002 levels. We can’t say the same for postage, labor, paper or technology billing costs. Many of those have doubled over the same period.
We have reached a point where we need to reduce billing costs in order to avoid increasing the charges. The Village Board has determined that the best way to accomplish this is by adding an annual charge to your property tax bill.
The bill you will receive in early January is for services provided in October, November and December 2022 and is due on January 20, 2023 to avoid a late charge.
For most, this will be the last paper bill you will receive for the Sewer Utility. You will see a line on your 2023 Property Tax bill that includes a single “special” charge for Sewer utility services incurred throughout 2023.
By adding this charge to your property tax bill, you will no longer have to worry about misplaced bills or late fees and the Village Sewer Utility will be able to significantly reduce spending.
