Village Board Minutes Oct 8, 2018

Village of Almond Board Meeting October 8, 2018 Present: S. Bunders, J. Riggenbach, K. Trzebiatowski, R. Burns, K. Olsen, H. Burns, C. Smith Visitors: Dan Folan Pledge of Allegiances was said President K Trzebiatowski called the meeting to order at 7:00pm S. Bunders made a motion, seconded by K. Olsen to accept the September minutes. Motion carried 4-0. Treasurer’s Report: H. Burns gave the treasurer’s report. K. Olsen made a motion, seconded by J. Riggenbach to accept the Treasurer’s report. Motion carried 4-0. Finance – R. Burns presented the bills. J. Riggenbach made a motion, seconded by K. Olsen to accept the bills. Motion carried 4-0. Fire – None Public Works – Dan gave a report on results of cleaning the sewer lines. There were a few concerns., Flo Rite is all done with their part of the cleaning. After some discussion it was decided that we would use them again in approx. five years. Ordinance /Personnel-S. Bunders made a motion and seconded by R. Burns to approve the revised job description for the maintenance person. Motion carried 4-0. K. Olsen made a motion and seconded by J. Riggenbach to raise the pay for the election workers to $150.00 per day and keep the training dollars the same as present. Motion carried 4-0. S. Bunders made a motion and seconded by J. Riggenbach to pay hourly employees a Christmas Gift starting this year. Motion carried 4-0. After much discussion on wages for the new hire for maintenance worker, J. Riggenbach made a motion, seconded by S Bunders to offer $20.00 per hour to the new hire after January 1, 2019. Advertising will begin in November for this position for 30 days. Will determine at the November meeting which papers to advertise in. Meantime we will get together a job description, benefit package and applications for those interested. Building Inspector. J. Riggenbach made a motion, seconded by R. Burns to hire Ethan’s Inspection Services to do the building inspections for the Village. Motion passed 4-0. Equipment – Dan updated the board on the condition of our sewer rodder. He will look into possible getting an updated one. Zoning – Two building permits have been purchased. Dog Licensing – The County has increased their dog fees Cemetery – None Beautification – None Approve Meetings – J. Riggenbach made a motion, seconded by S. Bunders to allow the Clerk to attend a meeting in Stevens Point on October 9, 2018 for an informational meeting relating to the upcoming tax year using the new software system. Motion passed 4-0. J. Riggenbach made a motion, seconded by S. Bunders to allow the Clerk and Chief Inspector to go to an election security training On October 29, 2018. Motion passed 4-0.
