Board Regular Meeting

October 10, 2022

Present: R. Burns, D. Johnson, T. Pagel, G. Otto, L. Helmrick, H. Burns, C. Smith,

Visitors:  David Schauer, Ken Trzebiatowski

In the absence of the Village President, the Village Clerk appointed Richard Burns to chair the meeting.

Meeting was called to order at 5:00 pm by R. Burns

Pledge of Allegiance was said.

D. Johnson made a motion, seconded by L. Helmrick to approve the September 12, 2022 minutes.  Motion approved 5-0.

Treasurer’s report – H. Burns gave the treasurer’s report.  L. Helmrick made a motion, seconded by D.   Johnson to approve the treasurer’s report.  Motion approved 5-0.

Discussion/approval to sign the tax collection agreement with the county.  D. Johnson made a motion, seconded by L. Helmrick to sign the tax collection agreement with the county.  Motion approved 5-0

Finance Report – D. Johnson gave the finance report.  G. Otto made a motion, seconded by L. Helmrick to approve paying the bills.  Motion approved 5-0.

Ken Trzebiatowski, represenative  for the American Legion asked permission for the Legion to put a cement pad under the legion hamburger stand that is on village property.  G. Otto made a motion, seconded by L. Helmrick to allow the Legion to put a cement pad under their hamburger stand.  Motion approved 5-0

Public Input –None

Fire/EMS – Joint fire meeting on November 9th at 7:00pm to finalize the billing for fire calls.  The EMS has ordered the Lukas device that the funds were generated by the fundraiser this year.

Public Works – The jetting has been completed for this year.

Properties – None

Ordinance/Personnel – Working on completing the permitting on the property on CTY RD D

Equipment – G. Otto made a motion, seconded by T. Pagel to have Dave order the rubber edges to install on the pusher blade.  Motion approved 5-0

Zoning –Three new roofs have been installed.

Cemetery –The sunken headstone has been repaired.  Also working on replacing the corner fencing that is deteriorating.  A REMINDER  all summer decorations must be removed by OCTOBER 15th.

Beautification – A couple of flags are down because they need to be fix/repaired.  Dave will be replacing these in the spring.

Media Sewer/Clerk – Discussion/approval of changing the way the sewer bills are being collected. After discussion because we are out of the post cards that we use, postage is going up and the cost of the program that we use is going up.   D. Johnson made a motion, 2nd by L. Helmrick to switch the Almond Sewer billing to attach as a special charge on the property tax bill in 2023, eliminating the quarterly billing.  Motion approved 5-0

There will be a budget workshop on October 17, 2022 at 5: 00pm to go over the budget for 2023.

Next Board will be on November 14, 2022 at 5:00 pm by agreement

G. Otto made a motion, seconded by T. Pagel to adjourn.  Motion passed 5-0
