Village Board Meeting Minutes – 1/8/2024

Board Regular Meeting

5:00pm

Present: B. Roehrborn, D. Johnson, D. Schultz, G. Otto, L. Helmrick, H. Burns

Visitors:  David Schauer

Meeting was called to order at 5:00 pm by President B. Roehrborn

Pledge of Allegiance was said.

L. Helmrick a motion, seconded by G. Otto to approve the minutes from the December, 2023 board meeting.  Motion approved 5-0.

Treasurer’s report – H. Burns gave the treasurer’s report.  D. Schultz made a motion, seconded by L. Helmrick to approve the treasurer’s report.  Motion approved 5-0.

Finance report: D. Johnson gave the finance report.  L. Helmrick made a motion, seconded by G. Otto to approve the bills.  Motion approved 5-0

Board would like to review charging for appliances containing Freon as it is a significant cost to the Village and Town when those items are collected at the Collection Site. This will be added to the February 2024 agenda.

Public Input- None

Zoning – Motion by L. Helmrick, seconded by D. Johnson to approve the updated contract for Ethan’s Inspection Services. Motion approved 5-0.

Cemetery – Motion made by L. Helmrick, seconded by G. Otto to roll – over the Cemetery CD’s that mature in January 2024. Motion approved 5-0.

Public Works – D. Johnson and D. Schultz will work to draft a letter to Village residents informing them of the 10% increase to Sewer rates beginning in 2024.

Generator was installed at the lift station and tested. It was suggested that we secure the control panel and investigate getting a transfer switch.

Fire/EMS – D. Schultz reported that the JAWS unit was serviced, the airbags have been installed on the truck, the trucks will have oil changes soon. Another “Stop the Bleed” class will be offered in February and will include hands only CPR training.

Properties Committee – none

Ordinance/Personnel – none

Equipment – The board continued discussions on purchasing a front end loader

Beautification – none

Media/Sewer Clerk – H. Burns reported that we are continuing to update the ordinances found on the Village website. She will add a reminder about Winter Parking on the Village Facebook page. H. Burns stated that the 4th quarter billing has been sent. We have received some payments from the County for the Special Charges/Sewer payments for 2023. She is looking to have payment made to the Sewer account in February.
