Almond Village Board Regular Meeting
April 13, 2026

Present: B. Roehrborn, D. Johnson, D Schultz, D. Warzynski, L. Helmrick, H. Burns, C. Smith, W. Tomczak
Visitors: Greg Otto, Kevin Krentz
Meeting was called to order at 5:00 pm by President B. Roehrborn
The Pledge of Allegiance was said.
D. Schultz made a motion, seconded by L. Helmrick to approve the minutes from the March meeting. Motion approved 5-0.
Treasurer’s report – H. Burns gave the treasurer’s report. D. Warzynski made a motion, seconded by D. Johnson to approve the treasurer’s report. Motion approved 5-0.
Finance report: D. Johnson gave the finance report. L. Helmrick made a motion, seconded by W. Tomczak to approve the bills. Motion approved 5-0.
W. Tomczak made a motion, seconded by D. Johnson to approve Brittany Lynn Bavinck, Brigitta L Gresl and Jacob B Leatherman for an operator’s license for Firecracker Too. Motion approved 5-0.
D. Warzynski made a motion, seconded by L. Helmrick to approve an operator’s license to Roxanne Rae Cantu for Dee’s Bar & Grill LLC. Motion approved 5-0.
Public Input – Kevin Krentz who is running for 57th Assembly District came to the board meeting to introduce himself and see if we have any concerns, etc.
Public Works – Need to replace blacktop in a spot that had been dug up before by a sewer manhole that is not holding up. Need to replace irrigation pipes at the lagoon. D. Warzynski will look into the costs of this project. Roofs on the maintenance building and village office building are leaking.
Fire/EMS – Had the 2% audit and passed. The board gave the go ahead to install the heat exchanger at the cost of $18,823.98. This includes more safety features to bring the station up to code. L. Helmrick made a motion, seconded by W. Tomczak to purchase a heat exchanger unit to bring the fire station up to code using money from the Capital Improvement Money Market account. Motion approved 5-0
Properties -Sidewalk discussion – A list of recommendations of which sidewalks should be done this year has been made.
Ordinance/Personnel – There are several complaints of music too loud from Firecracker Too.
Equipment –Working on leak on loader. Snowblower is shot and will need to be replaced.
Zoning – one deck repair
Cemetery –April 15th removal of winter decorations
Beautification – None
Media/Sewer – None
Board of review training – D. Warzynski will take it this year

L. Helmrick made a motion, seconded by W. Tomczak to adjourn. Motion approved 5-0
