Board Regular Meeting
June 10, 2024

Present: B. Roehrborn, D. Johnson, D. Schultz, D. Warzynski, C. Schmidt, L. Helmrick, C. Smith, H Burns

Visitors:  Greg Otto, Laura Fulles

Meeting was called to order at 5:00 pm by President B. Roehrborn

Pledge of Allegiance was said.

L. Helmrick a motion, seconded by C. Schmidt to approve the minutes from the May 13, 2024 board meeting.  Motion approved 5-0.

Treasurer’s report – H Burns gave the treasurer’s report.  D. Johnson made a motion, seconded by L. Helmrick to approve the treasurer’s report.  Motion approved 5-0.

Action/Discussing was held to move the Sewer Replacement Fund and Beautification money from a saving account to a money market account to make more money. L. Helmrick made a motion, seconded by C. Schmidt to approve changing these two accounts from savings to a money market account.  Motion approved 5-0.

C. Schmidt made a motion, seconded by D. Johnson to approve getting a credit card for Greg Otto for the maintenance department.  Motion approved 5-0.

Finance report: D. Johnson gave the finance report.  L. Helmrick made a motion, seconded by C. Schmidt to approve the bills.  Motion approved 5-0

Public Input-None

Library – Laura Fulles from the Branch Librarian came before the board to get approval for the lease with the changes request by the village board.  C. Schmidt made a motion, seconded by D. Jonson to sign the new lease with the changes we requested.  Motion approved 5-0

Discussion/sign agreement with the Portage Conty Animal Contral-tabled until next month

Approve the Compliance Maintenance Resolution #119.  L. Helmrick made a motion, seconded by D. Warzynski to approve the compliance Maintenance Resolution #119.  Motion approved 5-0

Public Works-The wheel load was delivered today. Discussed the Fuel tanks at the Newby building.

Fire/EMS – RTF last week.  EMS has two new hires.

Properties –None

Ordinance/Personnel – Need to schedule a meeting to update the hand book

Zoning – Fence, Roof

Equipment – Jetter is back, Shaft on mower needs to be fixed

Discussion/Action on Class B Liquor/Beer License Applications

L. Helmrick made a motion, seconded by D. Johnson to approve all the above licensed except Gralow’s Bar & Grill LLC, pending proof of requirements of Village Ordinance 6-2-18 Revocation and suspension of licenses; NON-RENEWAL.  Motion approved 5-0.

L. Helmrick/Ordinances- will be sending out a letter to Garlow’s Bar & Grill LLC to follow-up.

Discussion/Action on Cigarette License

  • Garlow’s Bar & Grill LLC. 

C. Schmidt made a motion, seconded by D. Warzynski to approve the cigarette license.  Motion approved 5-0.

L. Helmrick made a motion, seconded by C. Schmidt to approve the operator’s license.  Motion approved 5-0

Beautification – Flowers are in the planters for the summer and growing. Thanks to all for doing this.
