Town-Village of Almond Joint Fire Committee Meeting

Present were: Matt Lemke (By phone), Kip Gutke, R. Hetzel, B. Roehrborn, W. Tomczak, Lori Helmrick, Carol Smith
Guest: Dennis Schultz, Arlyn Smith
Meeting called to order by R. Hetzel at 7:00pm
Discussed and looked over the updated Mutual Aid Agreement for the county. Kip Gutke made a motion seconded by Brian Roehrborn recommending this be taken back to the respective boards at their next meeting and get their approval and signatures. Motion approved 6-0
Air Trailer (old)-Roger Hetzel gave a recommendation that the old trailer be sold and put back into the members department funds to help pay for the new replace trailer. Seconded by Lori Helmrick. Motion approved 6-0.
Discussion as held on the make-up air furnace. The heat exchanger unit is cracked and not working properly. This is old and needs to be replaced to help prevent health issues with our members when they are working in the station. Dennis received two estimates of $11907.16 and $13068.44. Both will be past the estimate dates, so might be more. Kip Gutke recommended to take this back to each board. They can determine where they will get their share of the money to replace this unit. Seconded by Matt Lemke. Motion passed 6-0
Chief’s report. Have the generator up and running. Looking to replace the currant imagining camera as it is old and cannot get replace batteries for it anymore. The department is looking at getting some different used newer(Old) air bottles to replace our outdated ones. Brian made a motion to donate our old bottles to Niagara. (They can use them as our government says we cannot) Seconded by Lori. Motion approved 6-0 This includes any addition of masks etc. that goes with them.
Looking to replace some radios hopefully from EMS and DNR grant.
Dennis is looking to retire in June of 2026. Therefore, must start looking for a new chief.
